Google-What can you do?

I would like to start this hub my expressing a very sincere "Thank You" to everyone who commented on the previous hub posting when we were all going frantic about the antics of google - to describe in a better manner Google god was playing with the rankings of our clients and we had no clues of what was going on :)

The rankings are back to where they were, have improved actually and have been stable for a couple days, so we are keeping our fingers crossed that Google god has seen something good that we have done in the last couple days and has decided to reward us :D

I am sure that we are not the online Online Marketing and Search Engine Optimization company which has been made to ponder for hours and hours together for things happening on Google, which have no explanation and probably never would, the best reasoning would be based on the numerous blogs and experience of the numerous others thrown in a frenzy by our dearest Google God.

So after having run around chasing "Nothing which was actually wrong - since the rankings have actually improved" - I would like to share our experience with everyone so others who face this issue dont face the same thing that we did. So one fine evening, we got a call from our client saying that his rankings have disappeared - we obviously thought that the client was acting a little paranoid and assured them that we would do our bit of checking and revert. To our amazement, rather shock, the rankings had indeed disappeared. But the funny thing was that traffic wasnt down and site hits were actually improving. So we got into analytics - webmasters - paid tools and what not only to find what the client had already told us, the rankings were nowhere to be found :( BUT webmasters maintained that rankings were still there, it was showing 48 hours old data, but even then.

So, with a round of shouting around the teams, we started building "HIGH" quality links and searching more and more about panda updates and sites being penalized, identified some "THIN CONTENT" pages, well, even if they were not thin content pages, assumed they were and wrote better and more content - we dont do any black hat or grey hat or anything even remotely close to that color and neither do we have any doorway pages, so no work was done there.

Then, the site started showing up, on case sensitive search words - then vanished - then showed up - then vanished and trust me all this in a span of a few hours - unbelievable - then google dance was said then other funny words were said just to give ourselves some peace of mind that whatever was happening had some sort of a logical definition behind it. A very respected "HUB"'ber suggested that we use a proxy and hit the US data center, we did and the rankings were there - amazing aint it.

Now, after 2 days the rankings are back to normal - we still have our fingers crossed and are hoping that Google god has stopped playing with us for now atleast - but now i come to my main point - can we question google about what happened? maybe ask for an explanation for why the rankings were showing and then disappearing for case sensitive keywords?

Well i know thats all wishful thinking, atleast we will be scared to question google - else it just might get ticked off and block us completely - lol - now that cant be good for anyone can it?

Any suggestions as to what happened, any other webmasters experience the same issue as us, would love to hear, we at MAG Studios believe that there is always that "something" which we do not know how to do, that keeps us healthy motivated and i think very good in what we do, so any learning we can get from other's experiences is always welcome.
